Two-Day Workshop with Little Big Partnership

On March 16-17th, the whole team gathered at TutoTOONS Kaunas office to meet and learn from our special guest and mentor. Maurice Wheeler, partner at The Little Big Partnership who worked with global brands like Disney, LEGO and Nickelodeon, shared his insights on creating the best digital experience for kids. It was the most intensive TutoTOONS workshop so far: learning sessions with interactive tasks, a lot of valuable information, discussions and analysis of the newest TutoTOONS games, all in 2 days!  We learned more about kids of different ages. We asked many questions how to design and deliver the best content. Divided in teams, we put theory into practice and analysed how we can improve our games. Hard work has to pay off - we rewarded ourselves with a small party, played games at the office and wished Maurice a safe flight back home. Thank you!

Learning to Understand Kids Better

TutoTOONS aims to create games that engage kids and help them develop but sometimes we have questions what’s best for our players. Therefore, we invited Child Psychologist and Psychotherapist Rosita Pipirienė to our office and organised a learning session about children’s psychological development. We heard a lot of interesting insights about kids’ development, age stages, role playing, symbols and color therapy. We discussed how games can stimulate imagination and creativity, build better habits, help to understand rules, socialize and become a team member. Thank you, Rosita! It was very useful and we hope to meet again soon! For the first time ever, TutoTOONS team standing in one line.

Meet and Learn from Mike Hines

Meet and learn from Mike Hines (Amazon), the new best friend of TutoTOONS! :) We’re organising a meet-up with Mike on November 7th at ISM Innobase (Arklių Str. 18 Vilnius), 19:00. RSVP and invite your friends game developers!  Topics that Mike will cover: What the Top 50 Apps Do With In App Purchasing That the Rest of Us Don’t Amazon has collected data about how users engage with IAP in games, and we have reviewed how the most profitable apps are using IAP to monetize successfully. We found data on two levels: HOW the top 50 did differently (Retention data, session length data, units sold and price data) and WHAT they did differently to get those results. It turns out there are a handful of things that most of the top 50 do that other games don’t do. We’ll share that actionable data with you in this session. Is This Really All There Is? More Ways to Monetize We’ve all heard of premium, freemium and ad-supported monetization models, but is that really all there is? No, there are more ways to monetize your app than just those three choices. Is your app using all of the available monetization mechanics? In this presentation, Amazon reviews additional ways you can monetize your app both inside and outside of the app itself, including Amazon Underground. Most of these monetization options will work in conjunction with other established monetization mechanics regardless of whether your app targets iOS, Android, or Windows Mobile devices. Short Bio  Mike Hines is a recovering serial entrepreneur, and is currently a Developer Evangelist for the Amazon Appstore. An advocate for getting more developers over the app poverty line, Mike is on a continuing mission to find out and share what currently is and isn’t working in mobile app monetization, and to identify trends that shape the industry. Mike will be happy to take questions on just about any mobile app topic. Join us on Monday!
