Watch more in the video! TutoTOONS: Hi, Weronika! Tell us something about yourself. Weronika: Hi! I live in Poland, I am 20 years old and I’m drawing for about 6 years now. I treat it more like a hobby than my job. And what about game creation - did you have game development experience before starting to work with us? I did not have any experience with game development. Working with TutoTOONS was my first project like that. What’s your game about? I was creating a game about making donuts. In this game, the player can create sweets in various ways and decorate them as he or she likes. What was the most fun part of the whole game making process? I love creating characters, so I had a lot of fun designing the girls and their pets. And what was the most challenging when creating your first game? I think that the most challenging part was making all the final details. It was quite hard to create all scenes perfectly. How much time did it take to create this game? I was working with this game for about 3 months. But it was not a full-time job. I also had a few little breaks in the meanwhile. What, in your opinion, is the most important thing in game development? I think that the most important thing in game creation is knowledge about game builder possibilities. If you know how you can use the program and what effect you want to achieve, you can do almost everything. If you had to give a tip for those who just started creating their first game with TutoTOONS, what would be? Be patient. Even if things do not go right, you cannot just give up. Take a small break, and try again. Also, do not be afraid of trying new things. Not everything may be achieved but it is always good to try. Do you plan to make more games with TutoTOONS? Unfortunately, I do not have enough time to take another project with TutoTOONS now but maybe in the future I will make more games. Describe TutoTOONS in one sentence. TutoTOONS is created to bring the joy for all children and make them happy with their games. :) Nice! Any final thoughts? I am really happy about being able to work with TutoTOONS. I have more experience now and I learned a lot of new things. Thanks you for your answers! Time to make and bake yummy & magical “Fairy Donuts”! Google Play: App Store: Amazon Appstore for Android:

Pocket Baby Dragon Helps Kids Learn to Brush Teeth & Clean Up!

It’s been a while since we last posted a story from TutoTOONS game creators. Following up our game artist interviews, we invite you to meet Alessandro Bagatin from Milano, a designer and author of ‘Baby Dragon Tamer’! About the Game Baby Dragon Tamer is a virtual pet type of game with 8 activities for kids and toddlers. After helping baby dragon Aver hatch from the egg, children will have to take care of their new pocket friend: cook and feed, bath, dress up, clean up, exercise flying over the canyon, draw in the cave, and more! TutoTOONS: Hi, Alessandro! Tell us a little about yourself. Alessandro: Hi! I’m a designer and I studied comics at the School of Comics in Milan. I finished my studies in 1991 and worked as a freelance illustrator. In 1995, I had a very formative experience in a small animation studio, and then in 1997, I’ve worked at Animation Band on a few of TV series. I also did some character design, animation and modeling works for a few video game production studios. In these days, I’m going to start at a company that develops motor racing video games. I like movies and TV series, I love to play and watch football (soccer). My hobby is about football too - I play old, historical game Subbuteo and participate in tournaments. I am a very good player. :) Tell us more about your previous game development experience. I had some projects but only one was a game for children, an experimental project, similar to TutoTOONS. Baby Dragon Tamer is my first game with TutoTOONS. What was the most fun part of making Baby Dragon Tamer? The fun part of this project was participating in a community and exchanging ideas and tips with people from various places in the world. And what was the most challenging? In the final part of the project, it took a lot of time to produce marketing materials. What was the most important thing for you when you were creating this game? In my case, I appreciated the support of my team leader Robert Menegus from S. Francisco, he was very sympathetic. What do you think kids can learn from Baby Dragon Tamer? In this game, I think that children can learn to rearrange their room and clean their teeth. :) Are you planning to make more games with TutoTOONS? It depends on my new job! I’m thinking about a game… But at this moment, I don’t have enough time, maybe I can draw a storyboard… We will see. Describe TutoTOONS in 1 sentence. Interesting experience. Thank you! If you have kids around who love dragons and dinosaurs, surprise them with Baby Dragon Tamer game! Google Play: App Store: Amazon Appstore for Android:

Half Human, Half Gem

TutoTOONS Level Ups are getting more fun with every week. In this week’s drawing challenge, every artist had to pick a gemstone or mineral and create a character based on it. Our artists got inspired by current trend from fans of Steven Universe, a popular animated TV series. Its characters get magical superpowers from different gemstones. Fans of Steven Universe get creative drawing their own half human, half gem personas, better known as “gemsonas”. TutoTOONS artists also took this challenge. Here’s what they created in just 1 hour!

Let the Best Horse Win!

This Level Up was very exciting: we had our first guest artist and we asked kids to choose the best drawing! Some of our top games like Princess Girls Club (created by Olga Vasilevskaya from Ukraine) or Sweet Baby Girl Farm Adventures feature horse care activities. We looked at our App Annie game data and it seems that kids really enjoy grooming and dressing up horses, whether it’s a dream unicorn or a simple domestic horse! As a matter of fact, our upcoming Sweet Baby Girl cleanup game will have a very cute pony. So during Monday Level Up, our game artists decided to draw horses and let kids pick the best one! Even thought it was the first Level Up for our guest artist, he did great - kids chose his drawing as the second best in this competition! We hope to see more artists in TutoTOONS Level Ups. Drop us an email at [email protected] if you’re interested! Nearly 200 kids voted and here’s their horse choice results, starting with the winner that got over 50% of the votes!

New Monster in Monsters University

That’s right, our artists decided to draw monsters that would fit in with Monsters Universe characters. Check out the results! P. S. We used Monsters University characters only for the reference. All rights of Monsters, Inc. and Monsters University belong to their creators.

Level Up: Ancient Egyptian God in the 21 Century

Today our artists decided to create a character concept sheet for present-day Anubis. If you read our previous post, you know that they had only 60 minutes to complete this task. Here’s how they think this jackal-headed ancient Egyptian god of the death and embalming would look like now: If you like our level ups, why don’t you join us? Draw how Anubis would look like today in just 1 hour and email us your creation at [email protected]

Level Up: 1 Hour Drawing Challenge

A month ago our amazing and talented game artists started a very creative weekly tradition. Mondays, at the end of the work, they think up a random artistic challenge and have to complete it in just 1 hour. You may consider this as an inventive game for artists. They can demonstrate their talent and skills while having fun, relaxing and drawing whatever they want. Perfect getaway from your everyday work and very useful exercise for self-improvement. We simply call it Level Up. This week’s topic was “a ruler of insects who can resist physical impact”. Our artists had to reveal this super power by creating character design. Enjoy the results: Creative task of the previous week also involved character design. The tricky part was that the character had to possess the texture of… an apple, a randomly selected thing by our artists. Here’s what they invented: And before that, TutoTOONS artists tried to sneak in Winnie-the-Pooh into Miyazaki’s“Howl’s Moving Castle”. They took a background from the movie and Winnie-the-Poohline art: The challenge was to color the Pooh so it would suit the background nice and pretend that he’s also from Miyazaki’s movie. One of the first Level Ups was about dragons. Our artists used a line drawing by Fuzzycoma - Haku character from the movie “Spirited Away”: The task was to color, tint and shade the dragon. From now, we‘ll be posting the creations of our artists every week. And if you‘re an artist, let‘s upgrade together! Complete the same creative tasks and email us your creations at [email protected]  We‘ll be happy to share it!
